Hello once again, and Happy New Year! Of course, the Chinese new year is at the end of this month, and the real new year was at the beginning, so this is simultaneously a belated and in-advance Happy New Year! Happy New Year!

It's a thrilling time for dubious Chinese research, as one man unveils a map that he says claims it was a copy of an alleged map from centuries previously and therefore shows China discovered America ("Red Indians" obviously don't count), and Taiwanese researchers breed scary green pigs. Meanwhile, in the PRC, hundreds of military scientists are working on stuff to do with the space programme with no military application whatsoever.
