Hi everyone!

Welcome to the second issue of gou-rou.com! Still the only Beijing zine worth reading!

Spring is in the air, and that can mean only one thing - slightly better weather! I got so excited about the prospect of sunnier days the other night that I fell through a glass-topped coffee table and had to be taken home. So, lose those winter blues, don those springtime greens and get ready for some fun in the city, which is Beijing - the capital of the People's Republic of China!

We've got a whole raft of features and reviews for you this month, including some about cars, one of my favourite forms of road transport. Constance Birkbeck casts a bloodshot eye over the crazy world of food additives, while Solomon West struts his funky stuff with the coolest cats in town in Beijing Beats. All this plus food and entertainment reviews, as well as China-based internet publishing's sauciest minx, Angel Chu.

Reg, who writes "Spotlight on History" is on holiday this month, soaking up some rays in Phuket (at least that's what he told us!), but never fear - he will return.

There's more than enough to go round nonetheless, so dig in, enjoy, buy our merchandise and keep those comments coming!

Vegetable rights and peace,
Arabella Green
