Letter from the Editor

Hi gang!

Phew, summer has got hot with a vengeance hasn't it? I've been kicking back with some mixed alcoholic drinks and enjoying my summer reading. I've just finished the super Chinese Babes in Beijing by our own Angel Chu, and How Pretending To Be Ironic Is Possible by Rob Metcalf, a towering intellectual giant but very accessible. The back cover blurb says that Mr Metcalf doesn't realise how smart he is, but I don't think it's possible to be cleverer than Rob thinks he is!

At any rate, in this issue we've got some startling revelations about the international political process, a handy jobs section, the return of Spotlight On History and some other things! It's like a massive coin of Beijing news - and it's landed on its edge!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to go out to the shops. We've run out of grenadine and people I don't know have been drinking in my flat for thirty-seven hours.
