Hi everyone! It is OLYMPIC FEVER around here and no mistake! If it gets any more Olympic around here the office will actually be a mountain in Greece. The best thing about the Beijing Olympics is that everyone can feel like they are participating, thanks to there being so much amazing merchandise to buy.
For example, why not get yourself some official Beijing 2008 headgear? Or how about the Olympic bathrobe? Or for those who really love China and the Olympic spirit, the official Beijing 2008 1kg bar of gold--a snip at 135,000 RMB!
With the most important Olympics in the most important country just weeks away, gou-rou.com can finally reveal why it has been absent from your computer screens since December 2006...yes, you guessed it, the entire staff have been working towards this Magnum Opus--the gou-rou.com Olympic Special. Welcome to the only site you will need to guide you though the highs, the lows, the tears, the government-sanctioned cheers, the flags, and maybe just a medal or two as well! Who knows?!
As the only remaining quality English language publication in Beijing, Gou-rou now holds the hopes and dreams of Beijing's ex-pat community (and the Olympic visitors) solely on its own canine shoulders. New staff have been drafted in, old members remain to provide leadership and the benefits of their vast experience. Henrietta Wang was enticed back from her job as editor of the sock fashions section of Grazia. We've even begrudgingly given Angel Chu her old job back at a heavily reduced pay scale.
So, check out the features, enjoy the words, and embrace the Olympic Spirit!
